The ration is provided to needy people and deserving families after proper verification in different cities of Pakistan while keeping their privacy a secret. After identification and verification, we give food ration packs to families who often have no other option. These include widows, elderly women, people unemployed, and families facing financial difficulties.
Feeding the people is the most liked act in every religion. It is a great service to humanity. That’s why we do arrangements for this cause in many cities of Pakistan. Our focus remains on laborers, taxi drivers, security guards, patients, orphans, and homeless persons. In the month of “Ramazan” we also do special arrangements for this purpose like Seheri Dastarkhawn & Aftar Dastarkhwan.
We organize Regular Blood Donation Camps in different Universities, Colleges, and at different events to collect blood for Thalassemia patients. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen. This disorder results in excessive destruction of red blood cells, which leads to anemia, a condition in which your body doesn’t have enough normal, healthy red blood cells.
At these camps, free blood tests (Blood CP, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Aids, Syphilis, Malaria Parasite, and Thalassemia. are also conducted).
We organize Medical Camps in different towns and villages across Pakistan and give priority to those locations where basic health facilities are lacking or where it is very difficult for people to go to the hospitals. Kalsoom Foundation arranges free medical camps for free medical checkups, free doctors, free medicines, and conducts free medical tests for poor people.
If there is a need for something, that would improve a situation or helps the community then to serve it is our first priority. There are many people living in our neighborhoods, residential societies, and sometimes, also in the Government hospitals who need wheelchairs, stretchers, crutches, patient beds, white canes, etc. but due to financial or any other reasons have no access to them. Kalsoom Foundation’s mission is to keep searching for these people and provide what they need.
Normally our gifts include clothes, shoes, books, and cash amounts we distribute regularly to deserving people. And on special occasions, like Eid-ul-Fitar and Eid-ul- Azha we distribute Eid gifts among laborers, orphans/street kids, and people for whom it is difficult to celebrate the happiness and participate in the festivities of Eid.
Thalassemia is a blood disorder passed from parents to children through genes (inherited). Specialized care across the life span can help people who have thalassemia live as healthily as possible. Thalassemia is treatable that can be well-managed with blood transfusions and chelation therapy. Kalsoom Foundation arranges sessions, programs, and events at different institutes to create awareness about Thalassemia and its prevention measurements.
One in three people will need blood at some time in their life. Every year, hundreds of people lose their lives due to the non-availability of blood at the time. When someone in the community needs blood, it is our responsibility to have it served and readily available. If you can give blood, please do. If you can’t, please encourage and support others who can and help spread the word. Access to water, sanitation, and hygiene is a basic human right and yet some people are still unable to access these. The water crisis is massive. There are a lot of people living in isolated rural areas of Pakistan who spend hours walking to collect water for their families. Walking in search of water not only keeps their children out of school but also takes up the precious time they may use to earn a livelihood. And together, we can solve it. We’re setting up water pumps throughout Pakistan aiming to put an end to this crisis by providing clean and safe water around the country. Your Water Pump Donation will make it easier for impoverished people to have clean water quickly and efficiently for their families, saving them time and effort.
Tree plantation is not just something that should be done; instead, it is a necessity, the urgent need of the hour. To combat many environmental issues like deforestation, erosion of soil, desertification in semi-arid areas, global warming, and most importantly to enhance the beauty and balance of the environment, we should plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same. Kalsoom foundation is also focused on renewing the environment and engaged in “Tree Planting” activities. The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, and the second-best time is “Now”.
